The scariest thing is always the fear of the unknown

or sth like that.

This game would have been a great creepypasta if not for the "thanks for playing".
You should make a similar game in future, only the kind of game, that would mess with the player more.

I don't know what famicase is, and don't really care, but the page in the link looks cool.

I liked the game, but mostly for easy medals. The best tactic to win with bot is to provoke him to prevent the player from winning, at the cost of his own win.

For example in a situation of:
O|_|X
O|X|X
_|_|_

The bot decides to block the row of "X"s instead of going for a win. Which I'm fine with, because I don't think I would win with the bot otherwise. The only way to win with him is when the player has the first move. If the bot starts the game, the only thing you can go for is a tie.

Maybe create various difficulties from easy to impossible?

Great graphics, sound, btw.
Will I be mentioned in "thankyous" in part 3? That would be cool :3

Thank you we will remember you.

Hints: the white dude always shows you the secret places. So always look at where he spawns.

There are three secret places you need to find:
-in the red area: left portal, then get to bottom left, to find a hidden portal, then interact with the first tree, but do it UNDER that tree.
-in the green area, after you give the rake, and the new portal opens, go to the bottom right portal and interact with the first top block (near which the white dude shows).
-after you beat the octopus, the pirate will open the portal to another place, there you should go bottom right to find the area with blue painting.

How to beat octopus: just go down under the octopus plate / painting / whatever and stay there. Try to be a little in the middle between the rocks, so you'll be untouchable.

At first I didn't like the game, but after a while, I started to dig it. Good work, albeit needs some polish.

Mythologically speaking, the observance of the deconstruction of the complex ideas is superior in its equilibristic emptiness of ignorant vehemence within the centre of biological compulsion.

This is the game I must write a review of, otherwise I will lost the opportunity to comment on something trully unique, and brilliant.

I don't know what happened, I got all the medals, and I can only guess how the mechanic works. From what I see, the game is about random chances, with pressing space = throwing dices, when the result might mean 1=standing, 2=jumping, 3=dead. 4=jumping forward, etc. But I guess that I'm wrong, and I look in the wrong way.

It certainly requires thinking outside of the box, and even if you don't understand the rules, you can instinctively "get" the object of the game, even if it can't be rationally explained.

The game is both genius and dumb at the same time. You can affect the gameplay, and yet, you are dependent on the whims of the cats. You are known for creating some truly original games, and I am in awe of your work.

whileworking responds:

Thanks so much for this review! As the developer I don't want to explain too much, rather leave it to the community to discuss. You can understand this "game" in different ways.

9) is actually the cobalt puzzle Mxmts mentioned

You can also re-read the message if you enter the puddle, btw.

Pretty cool social experiment.

Ufff, finally beaten it.

At first I was a little infuriated, because the puzzles were complex and confusing, especially the first with cube and handle. I don't know how I managed to beat it. Probably the hardest, due to the weather changes that require good timing and puzzle skills.

The second with the trunk, and cabin was better, albeit a little confusing as well, but more logical. Probably has a lot to do with the amount of options that you have.

However, The Pedestal Puzzle was THE BEST. My favorite puzzle, and the most logical.
I had a genuine joy solving it. Everything felt logical.

All in all, this game proves that what makes games good are not sophisticated graphics, but the concept and the gameplay itself. If the game can captivate you, it means that it's a good game.
In many ways I would call it a literaly / novel game? Text + interactivity. You could employ this mechanics in future to make interactive novels.

I didn't notice any bugs.

Classic masterpiece with high replay value. Too bad that this game doesn't have medals, as I would get them easily. Either make a sequel or develop it for steam, or whatever.

Jesus christ. This is brilliant. The message and the game. I don't really care for medals, maybe someday I get them all, but this is a brilliant submission. It has a great re-playability, as well as skip button.

Muja responds:

Ahah thanks a lot for your nice review and your enthusiasm. You probably get where I'm going with the story... but I have a coulpe of twists up my sleeve yet, I hope you'll like them.

(It seems that skip button was really needed, I'll remember that for all my future projects)

I'll bite and try to give you a useful review.

The game itself is actually good, the mechanics work well, and the gameplay is good with the upgrade system engaging the player to play for longer than a minute. Of course, you should always try to improve yourself, if you want to make games, and who knows, maybe someday become a pro. The worst and most difficult part in making a game, which is coding, and making the game working, is not a problem, since you already proved that you are capable of that. But what this game obviously needs are good graphics and slightly better sound.

Apparently, you are "no budget games", but the beauty of newgrounds is that you don't need budget, you just need to find someone who can work with you. Search for someone who is good at pixel art (pixel art is an instant 5/5 always, every time), ask that person to create some graphics for your game, then search for someone who is good at making video game songs (there is a whole genre here dedicated only to that), and voila, a good game is made. And of course, don't forget about giving credit when credit is due.

Obviously, I assume that you made this game "just because", but you never know when it stops being a hobby, and becomes a lucrative job. It's much better to start with one good game being a hit, than making thousand meh games.

And that's it from me. Now, I'm going to get drunk, because it's weekend.
