Great game, great music, great graphics, great experience, great fun.

A hint for those looking at the cookie underwater. it's a small dark blue pixel on one of the two underwater screens. How I've found it? Print screen, paint, ctrl+v, plus resize to twice the size.

Squeka responds:

Thank you! :3
I didn't know there are such trick! xD
Congratulation! :3

Why would anyone hate you?
You are handsome, eloquent, you have your own car, and you make cute cartoons and games.
You also are cute, when you are so harsh for yourself publicly.
Dude, people want to make love with you, they would vote for you if you went for president office,
they would trust you with babysitting their children.
Look at my lips, look closely: No One Hates You. And No One Ever Will.

Speaking of this game, it can be hard at times, but thankfully, it's easier than your previous game.
Although I haven't beaten it yet, so everything is possible.
And don't rush your animation. It'll be done when it's ready to be done.

Turbo-Assassin responds:

This is the most beautiful thing anybody has ever said to me.

I... I think I have something in my eye... please excuse me...

*sniff*

it would be funny that some folks called this game racist, if it wasn't
depressing actually. 4 years ago no one would even imply such a thing (as you can
see for yourself while browsing the reviews).

now, after the charlie hebdo tragedy, I wonder if they still think it's racist.
probably they do, some people never learn, or get smarter.
it's funny that when you made a pedophile priest game, no one really complained (except maybe 1 guy).

This era will be remembered as the era of political correctness resulting in people being full
retards. I really hope that muslims will conquer europe and start persecuting those who defended
them. If this won't teach anything anyone, then maybe some people deserve their fate.

Ahhh, now I feel better after typing this.

BTW, while I know that you won't fix this, the clock in-game indeed goes slower than real time.

I usually don't do this, but since this collab is 5 years old and I am in a good mood today, I will tell you all a secret:

Secret Treasure: after pressing "PLAY" button, when you see the logo of NDC, click the letters N, D, C in the "Notepad Drawing Collab" text (the one above 2010). Do it quickly and you'll get a medal.

BTW, nice tits in one of the art. I prefer more detailed art when it comes to human anatomy, but it'll suffice.

Any chance for a downloadable version or at least a soundtrack?
My fave music was in last levels.

I don't think the game is hard at all, but then again, I ain't gamer.
Don't give up folks and the prize will be yours!

Anyway, it seems to be some story hinted, but only hinted.
Too bad, the game could be more interesting. I agree that "enemies"
barely appear or have any bigger role.

Another thing that I am surprised that gamezhero sponsored a game that is
a little more artsy and meaningful than usual.

EDIT: The song from level 19 should have had appeared earlier. I literally replayed the game up to that level just to listen to that song

Before I started playing, I already knew that I would like your submission, judging from the description.

Games like these are needed not because they are anti-something, but because they are well made. And I really enjoyed playing your game. Your game needs medals, though.

BTW, I have an idea for another game, where you are a tse tse fly and your goal is to infect people.
Please seriously consider this idea.

esayitch responds:

I tend to agree with your points about games that handle borderline controversial material... I see many games lately, from the smallest to the largest, trying hard to cram "meaning" and "profoundness" down the throats of their players. However in many cases the gameplay is merely an excuse and the point they wanna make would have been better discussed as part of a movie or book, as it is not very interactive. In short, interesting themes but lackluster games. So I'm pretty happy you think this was actually a good game first and foremost :D

There is something... cyclical about your submission. While I registered only last year, I knew Newgrounds since 2010, thanks to your previous game. Many things changed, for better and for worse since then, and because you don't have many submissions, it only feels natural to write a review for this one as a thank you.

It seems that you belong to the group of creators who prefer to produce meaningful and artsy games, and that's cool, especially that your game looks polished.

However, I have one minor request:
if you could add some substitute button for zoom, since my scroll is defunct due to my use and abuse.

I couldn't care less if the game is in good taste or not, frankly. Rwandan genocide is a good idea for a game, though. And whatever you wanted to say with your game is here for anyone to see, and maybe even to think.

Anyway, games are either good or are crap. Your game is somewhere in the middle.
Your game sort of reminds me of Postal, only poorer, which is actually fitting, since Rwandans are poorer than Americans. There is a room for improvement, but I doubt you will bother with improving this game. You could at least add a timer, so the player would know how much time is left to kill.

Graphics are very simple, but acceptable. Your choice of theme music was good, as it certainly added extra atmosphere. I feel like giving you extra half-point for mute option. Mainly, because WAY TOO OFTEN various programmers forget about this crucial option in their games, which is very frustrating.

What can I say? Try to put more effort In future, and it will pay off.

The thing about games and music is that if you like something in certain style, you will also like something that is extremely similar.

So is the case here. This game is heavily, I mean HEAVILY inspired by the games made by one of my favorite gamemakers of all time, Benjamin Braden (aka Amon26, or aka Robert Smith Jr), who is known on Newgrounds through his game Gyossait. Now, despite being HEAVILY influenced (seriously, it's really HEAVILY influenced, I really mean it), it's still a great piece of work, and it's impossible to deny the effort you put into this.

However, I do wonder why did you chose to replicate this particular style, and how difficult was creating this game for you?

All in all, it's one of these games anyone will more or less enjoy for the special atmosphere, sounds, and the cool pixel graphics.

Carrill responds:

I wanted to tell a dark story so I needed a very eerie-looking art style. Most pixel art is very cutesy. I would say that there wasn't much else for me to take inspiration from, really. Even styles like Metroid were a little bit too cartoony for what I was going for.

And since it was my first ever game, yeah I'd say it was a challenge. There were a lot of features planned that I was really unsure of my ability to program. It was a big learning experience.
